Summer Youth Baseball Camps_Promo Widget-3 Col Tall-01.jpg

Hello Saints Camp families, unfortunately we have bad news, which comes as a result of exciting news. The exciting news is that both the Saints and the Twins are now beginning to play baseball.  The bad news is that because of this, we will need to cancel the remaining Youth Baseball Camps for the 2020 summer. This decision was not an easy one, but we made it because we felt like we wouldn’t be able to provide your young ballplayers with the best experience possible.

First, and most importantly, we now know for sure that with our team in Sioux Falls for an extended period of time our players and coaches won’t be able to participate as counselors for your children.  What we love most about our camps is that your kids spend time with our players and coaches…they learn from them, they become friends, they develop relationships.  When we scheduled these camps a few weeks back, the chances of the Saints playing a season were very uncertain and we thought our players would be in in St. Paul for the summer. We now know that they will be playing a 60 game season which began July 3rd in Sioux Falls, SD.  Our league has worked diligently to make sure a season will happen in 2020, but in order for us to participate our team will be using Sioux Falls as their home ballpark. With our manager, George Tsamis, and our players potentially spending the summer in Sioux Falls we won’t be able to provide our players and coaches as coaches for the camps. We considered other alternatives, but without our players and coaches we didn’t feel your children would receive the fun, entertaining, and passionate coaching that this organization takes pride in.

Secondly, with Major League Baseball ramping up and planning for their season to begin we’re doing our best to be good partners to baseball in Minnesota. Our friends with the Minnesota Twins are in need of a secondary ballpark in which to hold their preseason training camp.  They will also need a home for their “taxi squad” to train daily through the rest of the summer in case they are needed for the major league roster. We’ve offered them the opportunity to use CHS Field and we’re flattered that they saw our ballpark as Major League Baseball quality.

We know your kids were looking forward to this, and perhaps you were as well, but giving your kids the best experience will always be most important to us. The moment at which we can do that again, we look forward to seeing all of your kids smiling faces out here for a very Saints-like youth baseball camp.
