ST. PAUL, MN (May 25, 2008) – There were 2,500 fans that entered Midway Stadium happy, but over 7,000 left ecstatic as the St. Paul Saints ended their four game losing streak with a 9-3 victory over the Fort Worth Cats on Sunday night in front of 7,036.

On a night where the Saints gave away 2,500 bobble-foot dolls team walked all over the place using 11 base on balls by Cats pitchers to help put up their run total. That tied a Saints record for most walks in one game. With the Saints trailing 1-0 in the second inning Jason Colson led off with a walk. Brent Krause doubled him to third and with two outs Ryan Priddy walked to load the bases. Scooter Jordan slapped a single to left driving in two runs giving the Saints a 2-1 lead. Andrew Bennett and Tim Brown drew back-to-back walks, the latter forcing in a run, making it 3-1.

In the third the Saints made it 4-1 when Colson reached on a fielding error by first baseman Jake Gautrea, moved to second on a ground out by Brent Krause and scored on an RBI, bloop single to left by Brian Sprout.

With the Saint leading 5-2 in the fifth Krause and Sprout led off with back-to-back singles and Priddy walked to load the bases. Jordan followed with a walk to force in a run. He finished the night 1-2, with three RBI, a run scored and three walks. Andrew Bennett followed by grounding into a double play that brought home a run.

Saints starter Charlie Ruud moved to 4-0 on the season and is now tied for second all-time on the Saints career wins list at 24 as he went 6.0 innings allowing two runs on four hits while striking out two.

The Saints will take Monday off as they travel to El Paso, TX. They will take on the El Paso Diablos on Tuesday night at 8:05 central time at Cohen Stadium. The Saints will send RHP Alec Shepherd (0-2, 10.38) to the mound and the Diablos are TBD.
